Exercise Your Brain
Posted on: 10/25/2005

Just like our bodies, our brains lose agility as we age. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, there are ways to keep our brains healthy and perhaps reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. As part of the Maintain Your Brain campaign, the organization recommends adopting the following lifestyle choices to help maintain brain fitness: stay mentally active and engaged by reading, writing and learning new things; remain socially involved to reduce stress levels; stay physically active to maintain good blood flow to the brain; and adopt a brain-healthy diet that is low in fat and cholesterol and high in antioxidants.
